In the World of AI, Be Human

Curious Kid Times Team·July 8, 2026·3 min read

The world is moving to a place many of us never imagined. Machines doing our work was science fiction a few decades ago. Today, AI has all of us quietly rethinking our careers, our skills, our place in what comes next.

And if it's unsettling for us, imagine what it means for our kids.

That's the weight parents carry now. We're supposed to prepare our children for a world we can't predict ourselves. Every choice — what they learn, what they're exposed to — comes with a question mark attached.

But one thing I've made peace with: change is inevitable. The world will evolve. Technology will reshape how we live. So instead of fighting it, I keep coming back to a different question — if the gap between human intelligence and machines keeps narrowing, what should we hold on to? What keeps us distinct?

I think the answer is simple. In the world of AI, we have to focus on what makes humans, human.

When a kid looks up at the stars for the first time, AI can tell them the entire history of those stars — every fact, every date, better than we ever could. But that little spark in the kid's eyes, that flutter of wonder in their heart — no machine has that. That is ours.

So as a parent, you don't need to know the answers to every question your kid asks. AI will always be better at answers. What your kid is really looking for is you — someone to share the wonder with, someone to walk the winding road to the answer together. That's what they'll remember. And that's what will set them up to be human in a world full of machines.

Wonder about small things with your kid. Feel things together while making sense of life together.

This belief is one of the cornerstones of Curious Kid Times. We wanted to make it easier for parents to share wonder — so we built our stories from real news, from the actual world kids are growing into. And instead of telling plain stories, we wove little question sections throughout each issue. Not to test kids. Just to make parent and child pause, look at each other, and wonder together.

Because that pause is the most human thing there is.
